MEETINGS IN 2024
The Poodle Club of NSW Inc is a not for profit organisation founded in 1955 and incorporated pursuant to the Associations Incorporation Act 1984 to promote and showcase the pure bred Poodle. The Poodle Club is affiliated with Dogs NSW which is a member of the Australian National Kennel Council (ANKC). The ANKC is the peak body for pure bred dog organisations in Australia.
The Poodle Club of NSW is also a founding member of the National Poodle Council which operates under the auspices of the ANKC.
Article 3 of the Constitution sets out our Aims and Objectives. Broadly the Club aims to promote Poodles, support Poodle owners and breeders, support strategies to maintain and improve the health of the breed, assist people looking for information about buying Poodles and hold shows and other Poodle activities.
The Club represents all three varieties of the Breed. These varieties are defined by size (not colour) and are:
• Standard Poodles: 38cm (15 inches) and over at the shoulder - usually over 50cm
• Miniature Poodles: under 38cm (15 inches) but not under 28cm (11 inches) at the shoulder
• Toy Poodles: under 28cm (11 inches) at the shoulder
You are encouraged to read the ANKC Standard of the Breed - the blueprint for Australian Poodle breeders and judges - which has its own page on this site.
PCNSW conducts a variety of Poodle activities during the year including Championship Shows, one Obedience Trial and Rally-O Trial and Fun & Information Days on various dates for all Poodle owners and their friends.
